Ventilated ceilings are installed to kitchen areas, when the cooking ranges & equipment are too large for kitchen hoods. The ceilings are also used where it is impractical to use hoods, such as open kitchens.
The ventilated ceiling consists of a large plenum built into the ceiling void. The plenum is attached to the extraction and supply duct-work as required. The actual ceiling surface is then made up of ventilated baffle type filters or similar.
The ventilated ceiling can be an attractive solution when kitchen ceilings are low or the working kitchen is on view to the customers etc...
